JAXTAPOSE is a Brooklyn-based DJ hailing from Stamford, CT. By day, she is a medical student. By night, she blends minimal tech/tech house with hints of disco and afro-house. JAXTAPOSE has a background in classical piano, often incorporating a dramatic flair reminiscent of the 1800s white men whose music she grew up playing. Her sound is largely influenced by Eddy M, Harvy Valencia, and Jamie Jones, with a dash of LP Giobbi. She has graced several stages across New York City including the Williamsburg Hotel, Paradise Club, Bogart House, Nebula, Lavo, and the Public Hotel; and JAXTAPOSE will be making her latest debut supporting Born Dirty at the legendary venue Elsewhere this May. JAXTAPOSE’s sound ebbs and flows within familiarity, drawing you closer with recognizable refrains and then pushing you back into disorientation. Come and vibe with her.
